Almira Emiri, an Albanian-born concert pianist, began her musical education at the Jakov Xoxa Music School in Fier, Albania, with Maria Rafaeli. After winning the National Piano Competition (CICAL, Durrës) at 9 years old, she gave her first recital and embarked on a month-long concert tour of Italy.
At the age of 12, she moved to Hungary to continue her education and piano career. Almira won Hungary’s National Piano Competition several times, later graduating from the Béla Bartók Conservatory and the Franz Liszt University of Music in Budapest, as well as the University of Music and Arts in Graz, Austria.
In Graz, Almira founded a trio, Babameto, and as well as Degustation Pianistic, a group of pianists. She also launched Isralb Duo and other chamber music groups that performed in Austria, Hungary, Israel and elsewhere.
Almira has been influenced by prominent pianists such as Larisza Bornemissza, Mariann Ábrahám, Lehel Both, Annamaria Bodoky-Krause, Milana Chernyavska and Eugen Jakab. She has also been attending masterclasses with Dimitri Bashkirov, Rudolf Kehrer, Vitaly Margulis, Alexander Satz, Imre Rohmann and Livia Rév.
In 2014 and 2015, Almira was invited to France as a member of the jury at the Paris Conservatory’s Concours-Festival, where talented new pianists are encouraged to interpret modern and contemporary music.
With a comprehensive classical repertoire — both as a soloist and in chamber music — Almira has played in concert halls and festivals throughout Europe. Critics have warmly praised her concert series under the banner “Almira Emiri & Friends.” These concerts have aired on radio and TV channels throughout Albania, Austria, Hungary, Italy and Kosovo.
